The 29-year-old wasn't clinical in front of goal for Stuttgart but since his move to Mainz in 2013, the Japan international has scored 27 times in 65 Bundesliga appearances across the last two seasons.
That record has made Okazaki the highest ever Japanese goalscorer in Bundesliga history, while at international level, he's scored 43 goals in 93 games.
