Manchester United CLEARED To Complete Signing Of Mario Goetze

Bayern Munich have agreed to sign Brazilian attacker, Douglas Costa of Shakhtar Donetsk for a fee believed to be in the region of £25 million. Costa, who have in recent times, spoken publicly about his desire to play for Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side seems to have made a u-turn to play at the Allianz Arena instead.
The Brazil-born player troubled the German outfit’s back four in both side’s clash in the Champions League group stage last season, and it appears Bayern’s chiefs and scouts were impressed and see him as a good addition.
As an attacking midfielder, he has played a total of 140 games for Shakhtar and notched up 29 goals since joining the club from Gremio in the summer of 2010. In the January transfer window, he issued a “come and get me” plea to Chelsea when he said:“I want to play for Chelsea not just because my friend Willian plays there, but also because it’s the team coached by a great coach like Jose Mourinho”(Express).
A report by German publication Sport 1 claims Bayern have reached an agreement of £25 million with Shakhtar ahead of the transfer window. The German Champions were actually reported to be eyeing the signing of Man United winger, Angel Di Maria. Now it seems United will keep their man as the deal for Costa has been agreed.
The deal, if true, may likely limit the playing chances of Mario Gotze, who has been reported to be growing frustrated of life at the Bavarian club. His lack of enough playing time is said to be the key reason. He was criticised after last year’s 3-0 first leg Champions League defeat to Barcelona for sharing a joke with Ter Stegen, the Blaugrana goalkeeper. He promptly responded to the criticism and said: “those who think the defeat is of no interest to me are completely wrong”. Costa’s arrival may, therefore mean the end of his Bayern Munich career.
